Azkals Development Academy FC big winner in 2023 Aboitiz Cup opener

MANILA, Philippines – The Azkals Development Academy (ADA) Football Club romped away as the big winners during the opening day of the 2023 Aboitiz Cup at the Aboitiz Pitch at the Outlets in Lipa, Batangas last November 11.

ADA, owned by national player Stephan Schrock, came away champions in the Mixed 7-Under Category as well as the Mixed 9-Under beating even football giants Kaya FC.

In the Mixed 13-Under Division, ADA was third runner-up.  

The team also saw several players sweep the individual awards of their respective divisions. 

Schrock’s son Manilo was named Finals’ Most Valuable Player, while teammate Kyrk Abella was Most Valuable Player of the Mixed 7-Under Group.

Basti Sarmiento was Finals Most Valuable Player, while Gab Acosta was Division Most Valuable Player in the Mixed 9-Under group.

Other winners included the Makati Football Club red team that topped the Mixed 11-Under. Total FC Blue was the champion of the Mixed 13-Under, with Limuel Tapia of Total FC white named Finals Most Valuable Player. Meanwhile, Matthew Vegas of Total FC Blue was feted the Division Most Valuable Player Award.

Perpetual Biñan was the champion of the Boys 15-Under with their players Emilio Espinosa and Sebastian Luna named Finals MVP and Division VP, respectively.

The month-long tournament continues this weekend.
