Lady Knights barge into semis
MANILA, Philippines — The Letran Lady Knights’ under Oliver Almadro completed their transformation from a non-Final Four team a year ago to being one this season.
It was realized with a come-from-behind 25-20, 25-27, 20-25, 25-12, 15-9 victory over San Sebastian yesterday that sealed Letran the No. 2 seed in the NCAA Season 99 women’s volleyball stepladder semifinals at the Filoil EcoOil Arena.
Letran will now face the winner between No. 3 Lyceum of the Philippines U, last year’s losing finalist, and No. 4 Arellano U, which also made its semis return after missing the trip a season ago.
Then, if Letran survives that duel, it will tackle the league giant – St. Benilde.
The mighty Lady Blazers claimed their second straight nine-game elimination round sweep to zoom straight to the best-of-three finals for a shot at an amazing three-peat feat.
