MANILA, Philippines — Arvin Jay Millet and Carlos Lim set out for a reprise of their stirring opening-leg victories when the 2020 National Drag Racing Championships resume today and tomorrow at the Clark International Speedway’s drag strip in Pampanga.
Millet, the 27-year-old two-time defending champion, looks unbeatable in the M&H Pro class in a 255-wheel horsepower Honda Civic hatchback perfectly souped up to the limits of the racing bracket that count toward the Drag Racer of the Year title.
He bested Jonathan Thompson in the final faceoff of the previous leg by almost two car lengths.
Driving a 907-whp Honda Civic K24, Lim stole the thunder from the big guns by upending Cesar Castillo and the multi-titled Jonathan Tiu in Quick 8, the elite class among the competition‘s eight most powerful cars.
Also seeking repeat wins are Tiu in the M&H Super Pro class, Harold Canarias (Expert), Benok Licudine (Sportsman) and Allan Pabustan (Hotstreet).
