MANILA, Philippines - PATTS School of Aeronautics and Colegio de San Lorenzo trounced their respective rivals to notch their second straight victories in the eighth Universities and Colleges of Luzon Athletic Association (UCLAA) basketball tournament at the Marikina Sports Complex yesterday.
John Lymon Reed sizzled with 19 points as the PATTS Seahorses ?trampled the Lyceum of Alabang Sharks, 84-76, while the CdSL Griffins drew 14 points from Dominic Formenta as they clobbered the Philippine Nautical and Technological College cagers, 82-54.
PATTS, which fell short of its bid in the PCCL, earlier whipped Philippine State College of Aeronautics, 120-46.
The Lyceum Sharks actually held the Seahorses to a 43-all count after two quarters but Reed poured in 10 points in the third as PATTS took control and hung tough to complete the win.
Meanwhile, St. Francis of Assissi College whipped PNTC, 107-53, in last week’s opener with Jeric Prado leading the charge with 16 points and Tonio Custodio backing him up with 15 markers.
