PBA Press Corps to hold Journalism workshop

MANILA, Philippines -- PBA Press Corps will be holding its second Journalism seminar and workshop in partnership with Talk ‘N Text today Thursday at the Seminar hall, (Tech Services Bldg), Meralco compound, Ortigas Ave., in Pasig City.

Sixty delegates from Polytechnic University of The Philippines-Sta.Mesa will be taking part in the initial staging of the day-long workshop.

PBA Season 40 chairman Patrick Gregorio, who represents Talk ‘N Text in the board, will open the summer workshop that will promptly start at 9 a.m.

"This year’s seminar and workshop is the PBA Press Corps.’ continuing commitment to support the next generation of journalists in the country," said PBA Press Corps president Barry Pascua of Bandera.
“We believe this workshop will greatly benefit college students, who want to follow and be part of the growing number of media practitioners.”

Former PBA Press Corps president Musong Castillo of the Philippine Daily Inquirer heads the list of speakers.

Castillo, who has been covering the sports beat since 1992 beginning with the now-defunct Manila Chronicle, will talk about Sportswriting.

PBA Press Corps treasurer Richard Dy of Spin.ph, will speak on Newswriting, while Nelson Beltran of the Philippine Star will talk on the topic of Feature writing.

PBA Press Photographer president Tony Pionilla of the Manila Bulletin will speak on the topic of Photojournalism.

Pascua is requesting the press corps officers and members to take part and interact with the delegates.
