MANILA, Philippines - Jakarta has launched its first coordinated international golf tourism campaign aimed at drawing in golfers from around the world, including Asia and Australia, for a unique Jakarta golf experience.
“There are some 30 golf courses in and around Jakarta and we know, after two years of working with this lucrative niche segment, that golf players and visitors really love the Jakarta golf experience,” said Hari Wibowo, manager of International Promotion for Enjoy Jakarta.
He added that it is the quality of the courses, the caddy culture and the sheer variety and accessibility of the experience, not to mention the clubhouse hospitality, that are enticing more and more players to take a golfing holiday in Indonesia’s bustling capital city.
The campaign is actually a six-month program of promotions in China, Taiwan, Malaysia, Thailand, Japan, South Korea, the Philippines and Australia to deliver a clear message to golfers in these key markets that they should consider Jakarta for their next golf break.
The grand promo drive includes broadcasts of Enjoy Jakarta Golf on TV, in-flight TV and other digital platforms worldwide, creation of an Enjoy Jakarta website in multiple languages, training of travel agents in China and Taiwan, where golf is enjoying tremendous boom, promotion of Enjoy Jakarta Golf in golf and travel publications in key markets in Asia and Australasia, linking up with more than 500 golf tour operators worldwide and joining the International Golf Travel Market in Italy later this month.
