MANILA, Philippines - Jacob Ang of Eagle Cement swept the junior division in the second leg of the 2014 Petron Blaze 100 KF Karting Super Series at the Carmona Racetrack in Cavite recently.
Ang finished with a perfect total of 70 points to seize solo leadership in the KF Junior Blaze 100 class in the event sanctioned by the Automobile Association of the Philippines and backed by Petron, Petron Blaze 100 Euro 4, Petron XCS, Petron Ultron, Petron Xtra, Petron Sprint and Yokohama.
Ang now has a total of 129 points followed by Gabe Cabrera’s 117 points and Tai Zulberti’s 88.
Ang posted the fastest laptime of 44.177 seconds as the KF3 engine proved to be more suitable for him for a near-flawless stint.
He finished the 15-lap Race 3 in 11 minutes and 7.160 seconds, 6.907 seconds ahead of runner-up Cabrera with Zulberti at third.
Ang reasserted his triumph in Race 4 where he claimed the checquered flag 3.753 seconds ahead of Cabrera and third placer Tai Zulberti.
The final leg is set July 19-20 for Rounds 5 and 6 at the Carmona Racetrack.
