Ex-kickboxing champ Ngalani joins brother in ONE FC

For kickboxing world champion Alain Ngalani, he has achieved almost everything there is to achieve in the world of martial arts. He has a decorated kickboxing career with several championships and victories over luminaries like Michael Mcdonald and Bob Sapp. He has also found his way to the silver screen, shooting an action sequence with Keanu Reeves in the recent movie Man Of Tai Chi.

Growing up in Cameroon, he and his brothers were introduced to martial arts at a young age. Their mother encouraged her children to adopt martial arts as a form of defending themselves. Ngalani explained that she would not protect them when they got bullied, preferring them to stand up for themselves. Ngalani started in judo, but also began exploring other martial arts. He dabbled in Kyokushin Karate, Savate, kickboxing, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Muay Thai along the way. Ngalani found his niche in kickboxing.

Before embarking on his martial arts career, Ngalani served as a bodyguard for several years in Ivory Coast, protecting VIPs and high profile personalities, but soon realized the dangers associated with the job. He moved to Hong Kong where he opened his gym and his kickboxing career took off.

The world sat up and took notice when Ngalani defeated his opponent by a spinning kick in his ONE FC debut. He now gets his toughest test to date when he meets Taiwanese-Canadian Paul Cheng, a former American Footballer who is used to fighting in the trenches. Ngalani will look to showcase his renowned spinning kicks against the #1 Heavyweight from Canada in what will be a potential fight-of-the-night.
