MANILA, Philippines - Tickets to the 27th FIBA-Asia Championship are being sold twice or even thrice higher than face value in the back market.
For last night’s interesting match between Gilas Pilipinas and Chinese Taipei, they were all sold out, including SRO (standing room only) tickets for the different sections.
For evening games, tickets are priced P1,500 for Patron A, P1,200 Patron B, P800 Lower A, P500 Lower B, P175 Upper B and P100 general admission.
Tickets to the general admission were being sold for P250 outside the arena hours before the Philippine-Taipei match scheduled at 8:30 p.m.
In a popular online buy-and-sell site, a Lower A ticket was being sold for P1,500, and a Patron A seat for P2,000.
A seller was offering six tickets to the VIP box at P3,500 each. It’s a private room with food and drinks, a private comfort room and a butler.
But it’s more fun out in the stands.
