Palawan Pawnshop netfest resumes in Sultan Kudarat

MANILA, Philippines - The chase for tennis honors and ranking points resumes this weekend when the Palawan Pawnshop age-group circuit is fired off June 14 in Isulan, Sultan Kudarat with another huge field expected to vie for top honors.

Registration for the four-day event is ongoing and free in line with the organizers and sponsors’ desire to give all tennis playing youths a chance to play in competitive tournaments. Deadline for listup is at 12 noon on June 13.

“Through the years, it has been the commitment of Palawan Pawnshop and Babolat to develop our players by providing top-notch tournaments like this,” said Philta regional vice president and Palawan Pawnshop COO Bobby Castro. “By making it an open tournament, we want to give all the young netters a feel of tournament play.”

The Group 2 tournament, sanctioned by Philta, also serves as the kickoff leg of a series of tournaments in Mindanao with the circuit also set to hold stops in General Santos, Koronadal, Polomolok, Kidapawan, Tagum, Digos and Davao.

“This nationwide circuit also serves as the regional tournament program for children put up to address the need for a grassroots tennis centered on values formation,” said Guillermo Nocom, president of the sponsoring Technosports.
