MANILA, Philippines - Camp John Hay Manor hopes to use its local knowledge of the John Hay layout early as it opens its back-to-back title bid in the 24th Philippine Corporate Cup which fires off today in Baguio City.
Shean Bedi, Thirdy Escaño, Jayson Yu and Goody Ignacio bannered John Hay Manor’s domination of last year’s event at the up-and-down par-69 layout, coasting to an eight-point romp over fellow club bet CJH Suites under the Molave scoring system.
They are again tipped to lead the chase for the Group I crown but a host of others are out to foil their bid and fuel their own title drive in the centerpiece division of the event co-presented by Warbird Security, Ricoh Phils. and Nitro France.
Tanduay also goes for a repeat win in Group 2 along with Toyota Dagupan in Group 3 and Imarflex Battery in Group 4 while CJH Golf Club is favored to score another win in seniors play of the annual tournament featuring the country’s leading golfing corporations.
Trophies will be awarded to the top three finishers in each group with a separate trophy to be given to the medalist of each division of the event supported by hole-in-one sponsor Toyota Motors.
