MANILA, Philippines - The registry books for the 2011 staging of the Quezon City International Marathon (QCIM), with SM Development Corporation (SMDC) as this year’s title sponsor, open at eight registration centers in Metro Manila tomorrow.
Enlisting for the multi-event race, now on its third year, can also be done online through the runnex.org website of race organizer Executive Runners Club of the Philippines Inc. (RUNNEX).
Three of the walk-in registration centers are in the SMDC showrooms at SM Mall of Asia (Field Residences, 2/F North Wing); SM Megamall (Blue Residences, 5/F); and SM North EDSA (Grass Residences, Interior Zone).
Entries are also accepted at the outlets of another QCIM sponsor, Mizuno, at their stores in SM Megamall, SM Mall of Asia, and Bonifacio High Street.
The sporting goods merchant Second Wind at Teachers’ Village, Quezon City and the Runnex Office at UP Diliman are also accepting entries.
Besides the 42K full marathon, the QCIM includes the 5K, 10K and 21K distances.
The registration fees for the 5K and 10K events are P500 and P600, respectively, with no minimum age requirement for the participants.
A P750 entry fee has been set for the 21K race with 14 years as the minimum age requirement.
Registration fee is P850 for the full marathon which has 17 years as the minimum age. The entry fee for foreign entries is $30.
The regular registration period ends on Oct. 30 to give the race organizers sufficient time to have an orderly runners’ list for the results in the four footraces and their various age categories.
The SMDC QC International Marathon is expected to draw a record 15,000 participants.
