MANILA, Philippines - Another record field is expected to compete in the Century Tuna – Animo Sprint Triathlon on June 11 and 12 at De La Salle Zobel in Ayala Alabang. “Registration has been very brisk for this annual event and we estimate to beat last year’s record of 600 participants,” said Tom Carrasco, president of the Triathlon Association of the Philippines (TRAP).
Now on its 4th year, the Century Tuna Animo Sprint Triathlon attracts the country’s top triathletes to battle it out in the scenic Ayala Alabang swim, bike and run course. It is also a venue for beginners and young triathletes because of the side-events such as the Super Tri Kids and the Beginners Mini Sprint held on Day 1 of this two-day tri fest.
The Century Tuna Animo Sprint helps raise cash for the scholarship fund of the Saint Jaime Hilario-La Salle School in Bataan, a school catering to poor fisher folks and farmers in the province. The event is organized by the La Salle Greenhills Batch 81, the Century Tri Hard Team and TRAP. It is sponsored by Century Tuna, Goldilocks, Solar Sports and Belo Essentials.
Interested parties may call the TRAP Secretariat at 710-8259 or 0915-6394233 to register.
