MANILA, Philippines - 2010 World Slasher Cup-II champion Ed Aparri and Art de Castro set out for a back-to-back championship as they lead the crack roster battling it out in first of two semifinal rounds of the World Slasher Cup at the Araneta Coliseum.
The Aparri-de Castro pair breezed through the Group A eliminations last Monday to remain in the hunt for the second straight crown in the premier derby event hosted by the Pinatakasi of Champions and co-presented by B Meg Thunderbird.
Joining the fancied duo in the semis are Boy Marzo’s Gilmore crosses (BM Bulalayaw JDL) with Boyet Legazpi; Oliver W.N.R.-1 of Nestor Vendivil; Archlegan-Mayor Jesry Palmares and TLY Cebuwaii-1 Cobra San Lorenzo of Sonny Lagon.
The Thunderbird Sabongnation stars also proved their mettle as Boy Lechon posted four wins out in row (BL Farm with Rio Salceda and Manny L with Manny Licup).
Ormoc Gold breeder Bernie Tacoy scored three wins via his entries BGT/Roan Osprey and Ormoc Golden Dream combined with Jun Bacolod against a lone loss.
