MANILA, Philippines - La Salle-Greenhills brought down Ateneo, 2-1, to join opening-day winner Xavier School in the lead in the juniors division of the National Collegiate Billiards League (B-League) at the Star Paper Billiards Hall in Quezon City recently.
Hadley Mariano outclassed Ren Pinlac, 7-1, in the 9-ball, while Karlo Marcilla and Pao Darroca whipped Ricky Chavez and Martin Leachon, 5-0, in the 8-ball doubles to power LSGH to victory.
But Uytiedo averted a shutout when he edged Darroca, 7-6, in the 10-ball.
Last week, Xavier blanked St. Mary’s, 3-0.
The weekend-only tournament is organized by the NCBL, headed by Reli de Leon of Accel and Perry Mariano of Bugsy Promotions and supported by H2O Hotel, Manila Ocean Park, Malungay Life Oil, Niknok Pritson Manok, Human Plus Probiotics, Star Billiards Center, Brunswick, The Philippine STAR and Mediacom.
