MANILA, Philippines - Caliraya played the league-leading Urdaneta Tarsiers to a 2-2 draw with a game-tying goal in the final minute but the Tarsiers remained on top with a win later in the day in the ongoing 2010 Rexona-Republic Cup.
With the draw and a 1-0 win over Salcedo on a goal by striker Kenji Inukai in the first half, the Tarsiers earned 12 points on five victories and a draw after three playing days in the tournament also sponsored by Belo Essentials, The Bar, Molten, IL Ponticello, 89.1, and Balls TV as media partner.
In another game, Caliraya leaned on two goals each from Zemen and Kim Garcia and Jerwin Ngo’s game-winning goal late in the second half to edge out Manila Soccer Academy, 5-4, to occupy second place with 10 points on a 3-1-1- win-draw-loss record.
Loyola Agila shared second place (3-2-1) as it blanked the Makati Titans, 3-0, thanks to two goals by Marco Nieto and one from Tristan Tongson.
Earlier, the Titans pushed MSA deeper into the bottom, drawing two goals each from Anton del Rosario and Adrian Lustre in the second half.
