MANILA, Philippines - Another major international sports event takes place in the country, with the staging of the Flatmaster 2K9 BMX national and international competition, a two-day event set Dec. 12-13 at the Venetian Mall Park, Upper McKinley Hill inside Fort Bonifacio in Taguig with more than 500 local and foreign cyclists expected to show up for the event.
Flatmaster annual BMX freestyle competition, sponsored by Megaworld, Tribu, and Columbia with Pulp and Business Mirror as major media partners, showcases the talents of riders from different regions.
“For the first time, we will have an international division and we have already received a lot of inquiries from participants from Japan, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, and Canada. We expect a good number of veteran foreign riders to join this weekend’s competition where we will have the qualifying round on the first day and the finals for the top 16 riders in each category on the second day,” said Flipbykes’ Joel Gonzales, one of the organizers of the event, also supported by Royal Elastics, EDGE, Rollapaluza, David’s Salon, and BC Shoes.
