MANILA, Philippines - The Philippine Interisland Shipping Association (PISA) is holding its fourth Philippine Maritime golf tournament Nov. 20 at the Alabang Country Club in Muntinlupa City.
Every year, PISA gathers notable maritime officials of the government, stakeholders in the private sector, its members and business partners to participate in this endeavor to foster fellowship, rekindle friendships and renew its commitment in making the Philippine maritime industry attain global competitiveness.
This year’s tournament will benefit the ABS-CBN Foundation’s Kapit Bisig sa Ilog Pasig project and help generate support for activities relevant to the association’s active participation and information dissemination on the proposed Philippine Maritime Code of 2009.
Ably supported by its co-presentors Petron Corporation and Magsaysay Transport & Logistics, the tournament is expected to attract at least 80 players, including last year’s “Beat the Chairman” winners who are automatically seeded to play this year.
Up for grabs is a Texas Eagle golf cart as the hole-in-one prize courtesy of The Turf Company.
Major sponsors of the tournament are Harbor Star Shipping Services, Herma Shipping & Transport Corporation, Keppel Philippines Marine, Oceanic Container Lines, Oroport Cargo Handling Services, Petrolift Classed Carriers, Pilipinas Shell, PortCalls, Solid Shipping Lines, Pioneer Insurance and Surety Corporation and South Cotabato Integrated Port Services.
