MANILA, Philippines - The recently concluded Cobra Energy Drink Ironman 70.3 Philippines last Aug. 23 put the country on the map as a major sports tourism destination. While the event highlighted the excellence of the CamSur Watersports Complex in Pili, Camarines Sur as a sports venue, its biggest draw was still the unique nature of the triathlon sport itself.
The race drew 10 pro athletes, among them reigning world champions Terrenzo Bozonne and Chris McCormack as well as triathletes from more than 20 countries.
Solar Sports presents the television premiere of the first ever Cobra Energy Drink Ironman 70.3 Philippines Sunday, at 8 p.m. on Solar Sports Channel 34 on Destiny Cable and on Sept. 23, at 8 p.m., on CS/9.
