LOS BANOS, Laguna, Philippines – Three University of Sto. Tomas students and a Los Baños sports enthusiast ruled the “Makiling Run for Nature and Fitness” held here recently.
The two-stage race was organized by the UP Los Baños-base Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization-Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEAMEO-SEARCA) and Makiling Campus Runners (MAC).
Allan Ballesteros of MAC ruled the 10-K male category, which started from SEARCA’s compound on the UPLB complex to the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) – Region 4 office along Jamboree Road on the foothills of Mt. Makiling and back.
Jean Palencia of UST ruled the distaff side.
Jhony España, also of UST, topped the 5-km run, which started at the SEARCA office area to the Jamboree (Boy Scouts of the Philippines) and back.
Meriam Miranda, also of UST, dominated the 5K run.
