The first Manila Southwoods Seniors Invitational is all set with 200 participants representing 100 two-man, all seniors teams teeing off Tuesday at the challenging Masters and Legends courses of the Manila Southwoods Golf and Country Club in Carmona, Cavite.
Manila Southwoods seniors chapter president Ben Borja and vice president and tournament chair Paco Gonzalez expect two days of camaraderie and fellowship and intense friendly competition as the players vie for the top honors as they aspire to inscribe their names as the inaugural champions of the seniors invitational.
Aside from the usual trophies, the seniors can look forward to two Yamaha carts, courtesy of Kart Plaza, one each at the par-3 of the Masters’ No. 13 and Legends’ No. 12. Another Yamaha cart will be up for grabs in the raffle.
Wilson Sports, Callaway and Mizuno are offering complete sets with bags while Boracay Sands Hotel, Fairways and Bluewater and Camp John Hay Manor are staking three-day, two-night vacation packages for two with breakfast.
“On behalf of the seniors chapter, I thank our fellow members for the overwhelming response to our event. This is a good start and I envision this to be bigger in the coming years,” said Borja of the affair sponsored by Coca-Cola Bottlers Phils., Elro Commercial and Industrial Corp./Rider, Motolite, and Rudy Project.
