Ateneo-La Salle tickets sold out

Sold like hot cakes.

Tickets for tomorrow’s UAAP Season 67 opener are still available at the Araneta Coliseum ticket booths but those for Sunday’s Ateneo-La Salle encounter, sad to say, have been sold out.

According to TicketNet, which deals with all Big Dome events, tickets to the Ateneo-La Salle game were sold out since Monday, meaning there’ll be no empty chairs for the early confrontation between the league’s most popular teams.

TicketNet sells only 20 percent of the total number of tickets for each UAAP playdate while the rest of the tickets go to the eight competing schools with those playing for the day being given priority.

The Big Dome has a seating, ticketed capacity of 16,000.

TicketNet announced yesterday that due to the heavy demand, it has decided to sell a limited number of SRO (standing-room-only) tickets for the Ateneo-La Salle game on the day itself starting at 9:30 a.m.

The tickets, however, will be limited to three sections–Upper A (P110), Upper B (P60) and General Admission (P25). It will be on a one-ticket-per-person basis.

There’s no guarantee, however, that these tickets, and those that were already sold, won’t fall into the hands of scalpers who are expected to make a killing on game day. — Abac Cordero
