BACOLOD CITY ,Philippines - Delegates of Eastern Visayas that participated in 20th Visayas Area Business Conference presented to Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc. president Francis Chua three resolutions which they deemed necessary to help the economy of the region.
The first resolution, said Virgilio Andrade Jr., sought the help of DOTC Secretary Mar Roxas for immediate funding to continue the improvement of the Tacloban City Airport, which currently "remains small and inefficient amid the growth of business and tourism in the region."
Another resolution called on the Energy Department to look into the differences of fuel prices between the National Capital Region and Eastern Visayas, which is as much as high as P5 per liter.
The third resolution asked for immediate funds for the construction of roads in Samar to reduce the cost of transporting goods around the province, said Andrade.
The Metro Bacolod Chamber of Commerce and Industry also submitted a resolution asking for an amendment of the Oil Deregulation Law.
