22 Vietnamese dedo sa barkong lumubog

BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya, Philippines – Itinigil na ng mga tauhan ng Phil. Coast Guard ang paghahanap sa 22 Vietnamese crew ng cargo vessel na lumubog sa karagatan ng northern Cagayan coast kung saan sinasabing nalunod na.

“We now presume that all of the missing Vietnamese sailors are dead, especially after their lone survivor had described how the ship suddenly went under water,” pahayag ni Capt. George Ursabia, Coast Guard Northern Luzon district commander.

“Although we have terminated the search, we have come out with an advisory to all vessels passing the area to be on the lookout for any wreckage," dagdag pa ni Ursabia.

Lumilitaw na naunang nagpadala ng distress signal ang M/V Vina Lines Queen na natanggap naman ng Coast Guard noong Disyembre 25 kung saan minonitor naman sa may layong 200 milya sa hilagang-silangan ng Aparri, Cagayan.

Ang nasabing barko na pag-aari ng Vietnam National Shipping Lines ay may lulang 54,000 tonelada ng nickel ore mula sa Indonesia patungong China nang lumubog.

Ayon sa lone survivor na si Dau Ngoc Hung, nagkaaberya ang makina ng M/V Vina Line Queen at unti-unting lumubog habang naglalayag sa Babuyan Channel.

“Masyadong mabilis daw ang pangyayari kaya si Hung lang ang nakasampa sa lifeboat. Yung ilang crew naman ay hindi na nakasampa sa lifeboat habang papalubog ang barko,” pahayag ni Hung kay Ursabia.
