Region 1 isinailalim sa terror alert

CAMP CRAME – Isinailalim na rin ng Police Regional Office 1 ang buong puwersa nito sa ‘terror alert’ kaugnay ng banta ng terorismo sa bansa at pag-uumpisa ng gun ban period ng Comelec.

Ayon kay PRO 1 Dir. Chief Supt. Leopoldo Bataoil, kasunod ng ‘terror alert’ ay ipinag-utos niya ang pagpapaigting ng mga operasyon sa raids sa mga hinihinalang hideout ng mga elementong kriminal kabilang ang mga gun-for-hire syndicates. Aniya, dahil sa umpisa na ng gun ban ang hakbang ay naglalayong masawata ang pagsusulputan ng mga Private Armed Groups (PAGs) ng mga politiko kaugnay ng nalalapit na May 14 elections.

"We would like to ensure the success of Oplan Hope (Honest, Orderly, and Peaceful Election) in our area of responsibility," ani Bataoil.

Inilunsad rin ng PRO1 ang Operation Bakal na binaback-upan ng search warrants sa iba’t ibang lugar sa rehiyon na naglalayong maiwasan ang pagdanak ng dugo sa halalan.

"We intensified our measures on check/choke point operation with emphasis on the No Plate, No Travel rule, implementation of Task Force Armas, sectorized mobile patrolling, deployment of Task Force Hagibis along the highways, quick reaction of dragnet operation, surveillance/monitoring of target persons activities and other countermeasures," dagdag ni Bataoil.
