Speed cubing nakikilala na sa Pinas

MANILA, Philippines — Unti-unti nang lu­ma­lago ang speed cubing sa bansa base na rin sa pana­naw ni Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) president Abraham “Bambol” Tolentino

Marami na ang nae-engganyo sa speed cubing dahilan upang dumugin ang ilang events na ginanap sa Tagaytay.

Isinagawa ng POC ang unang Philippine National Speed Cubing Open sa Tagaytay City Combat Center noong Miyerkules at Huwebes.

“We are pleased as we saw everyone’s enthusiasm in the cube,” ani Tolentino.

Kaya naman isusulong ni Tolentino na mapasama ang speed cubing bilang de­monstration sport sa kauna-unahang Southeast Asian Games Youth Plus na idaraos sa susunod na taon sa Maynila.

Matapos ang national tournament, sunod na tatargetin ni Tolentino ang hosting ng Asian Championships.

Si Tolentino ang namumuno sa National League of Mind Sports at sa Asian Mind Sports Association (AMSA).

Isa sa mahuhusay na players ng bansa si Crimson Arradaza na isang 15-anyos mula Baguio City.

Nagtala ito  ng bagong world record sa 3x3x3 one-handed speed cubing event.

Nagpasiklab din sina Brenton Wong (regular cube) at Aragon Martin Gonzales (Pyraminx).
