Mojdeh, Waskiewicz maningning sa Seoul

MANILA, Philippines — Sampung medalya ang naiuwi ng Brent International School sa Asia Pacific Activities Conference (APAC) Swimming Championships na ginanap sa Seoul Foreign School swiming pool sa Seoul, South Korea.

Bumandera sa ratsada ng Lions sina Philippine national junior record holder Micaela Jasmine Mojdeh at Ethan Waskiewicz na parehong humataw ng dalawang gintong medalya sa kani-kanyang dibisyon.

Sumisid ng ginto si Mojdeh sa girls’ 100 butterfly sa bilis na isang minuto at 4.17 segundo gayundin sa girls’ 200m Individual Medley sa impresibong 2:22.05 na naitala nito.

Maliban sa dalawang ginto, humirit ang World Junior Championships semifinalist ng dalawang tanso — sa girls’ 100m freestyle (1:00.90) at girls’ 200m medley relay kasama sina Kirsten Tan, Jira Hedeager at Natalia Javier.

Sa kabilang banda, nakasikwat si Waskiewicz ng ginto sa boys’ 50m backstroke kung saan nakapagtala ito ng 29.22 segundo para patubin ang kanilang mga karibal.

Nakipagtulungan pa si Waskiewicz kina Ethan Hodges, Connor Hodges at Yuan Wang sa pagtarak ng 2:00.10 upang makuha ang gintong medalya sa boys’ 200m medley relay.

Nagdagdag pa si Waskiewicz ng pilak sa boys’ 100m backstroke (1:07.44) at sa boys’ 200m freestyle relay kasama ang Hodges brothers at si Wang.

“We are looking forward to compete here again next year with high hopes of improving our four-gold, one-silver, four-bronze medal haul this year,” ani Swim League Philippines (SLP) chairman Joan Mojdeh.
