P66 milyong puslit na mga gulay nasabat sa Subic
Subic Bay Freeport, Philippines — Nasabat ng Bureau of Customs – Port of Subic ang umano’y iligal na agricultural products na aabot sa P66 milyong halaga kamakalawa.
Ang pagkakasabat sa naturang shipment ay base sa inisyung Pre-Lodgement Control Orders (PLCO) sa 9x40’ container shipment na naka-consign sa JKJ International Company at isa pang 13x40’ container shipment na naka-consign naman sa EMV Consumer Goods Trading matapos makatanggap si District Collector Maritess Martin ng impormasyon kaugnay sa kahina-hinalang shipment.
Kasunod nito ay agad na inutos ni Martin sa kanilang Customs Intelligence and Investigation Service (CIIS) na magsagawa ng shipment profiling sa mga hinihinalang misdeclared at undeclared agricultural products.
Sa pamamagitan ng non-intrusive (X-Ray) at pagsasagawa ng physical examination ay kumpirmadong naglalaman ang nasabat na shipment ng iba’t ibang agricultural products katulad ng carrots, sweet oats, broccoli, mushroom, at onions.
Nakatakda namang isyuhan ngWarrants of Seizure and Detention ang nasabing shipment dahil sa paglabag sa Department of Agriculture Department Circular No. 04 series of 2016 and Section 1113 (f) of the Republic Act No. 10863 also known as the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act.
