MANILA, Philippines – Tunay na naging matagumpay ang katatapos na 87th Philippine Swimming League (PSL) National Series - 8th Sen. Nikki Coseteng Swimming Championship.
Ito ay dahil sa 57 bagong rekord na naitala sa dalawang araw na kompetisyon na idinaos sa Diliman College swimming pool sa Quezon City.
Nanguna sa listahan ng mga record-breakers sina Marc Bryan Dula ng Weissenheimer Academy, Sean Terence Zamora ng University of Santo Tomas at Charize Jualiana Esmero ng UP Intergrated School nang magtala ng tig-lilimang bagong marka sa kanilang mga events.
Namayagpag si Dula sa boys’ 8 years-old 100m IM, 50m butterfly, 50m backstroke, 100m backstroke at 50m freestyle.
Nangibabaw naman si Zamora sa boys’ 15-over 200m IM, 100m backstroke, 100m freestlye, 200m backstroke at 50m freestyle.
Nagreyna naman si Esmero sa girls’ 13 years-old 200m IM, 100m backstroke, 100m freestye, 200m backstroke at 100m freestyle.
“These kids are really aiming for records as they are gearing up for international tournaments next year. It’s part of their buildup and we’re happy that they are improving from time to time,” wika ni PSL President Susan Papa.
May apat na rekord na itinayo sina Micaela Jasmine Mojdeh ng Immaculate Heart of Mary College-Parañaque (girls’ 9 yrs-old 100m IM, 50m fly, 50m breast at 100m back), Kyla Soguilon ng Sun Yat Sen School-Kalibo (girls’ 11-yrs old 100m free, 100m fly, 100m IM at 50m free) at Aubrey Bermejo ng Iligan City (girls’ 12-yrs old 200m fly, 100m free, 100m fly at 200m free).
Nagtala ng tig-tatlong bagong marka sina Jerard Dominic Jacinto (boys’ 14-yrs old 100m back, 200m back at 100m IM) at Adrienne Macapagal (girls’ 11-yrs old 200m fly, 100m free at 100m fly) at may tig-dalawang bagong record sina Ferdinand Ian Trinidad (boys’ 13-yrs old 100m breast at 200m fly), Erika Suelan (girls’ 11-yrs old 200m breast at 100m breast), Estelle Mendez (girls’ 6-under 50m back at 100m back), Tom Aubrey (girls’ 8-yrs old 100m back at 50m free) at Marie Joe Borres (girls’ 10-yrs old 200m breast at 200m back).
