MANILA, Philippines – Dahil wala siya sa kampo ni Bob Arum ng Top Rank Promotions ay tila inaasahan na ni British star Amir Khan na hindi siya ang pipiliin ni Manny Pacquiao para sa pinakahuling laban nito sa Abril 9, 2016.
Kaya naman tinitingnan ni Khan na isang opsyon ang labanan si Kell Brook sa Great Britain sa Mayo ng susunod na taon.
“I’m waiting to hear back from Pacquiao,” sabi ni Khan kahapon. “I’m pretty sure he doesn’t fancy Bradley or Crawford, so I’m in with a chance.”
Bukod sa welterweight contender na si Khan, ang iba pang ikinukunsidera para labanan si Pacquiao ay sina world light welterweight titlist at 2014 Fighter of the Year Terence Crawford at welterweight titleholder Timothy Bradley Jr. na parehong nasa Top Rank Promotions.
Sinabi ni Arum na narebisa na ni Pacquiao (57-6-2, 38 KOs) ang mga fight tapes nina Crawford (27-0-0, 19 KOs), Bradley (33-1-1, 13 KOs) at Khan (31-3-0, 19 KOs).
“If Manny chooses someone else, I’ll fight Brook. I know I can beat him and it should be at Wembley in late May,” wika ni Khan sa kanyang plano.
“June is no good for me because that’s when Ramadan starts. If it’s going to happen, it has to be before then. Fighting then would also give us time to build the fight up properly into a huge event,” dagdag pa ni Pakistani-Briton fighter.
Nauna nang iniwasan ni Khan si Brook, ang kasalukuyang IBF welterweight title-holder.
Si Brooks (35-0-0, 24 KOs) ay nauna nang ikinunsidera ni Arum kay Pacquiao.
