Si Thoss naman ang gumana sa Aces
MANILA, Philippines - Mula sa matinding depensa na ipinapakita ni Sonny Thoss, patuloy na hinahawakan ng Alaska ang liderato sa 2013 PBA Commissioner’s Cup.
Ang presensya ng 6-foot-7 na si Thoss ang naging susi sa 83-73 panalo ng Aces kontra sa Petron Blaze Boosters noong nakaraang Biyernes kung saan nagwala si import Renaldo Balkman.
Dahil dito, hinirang ang 210-pound na si Thoss bilang Accel-PBA Press Corps Player of the Week.
Nagtala si Thoss ng 14 points mula sa 7-for-9 fieldgoal shooting bukod pa ang 4 assists at 2 rebounds.
“Sonny is a guy who will sacrifice his stats for the greater good of our team. He has to get the import at times and box him out, that is why his rebounds are down this conference. He is the consummate teammate,†ani Alaska coach Luigi Trillo.
“Against Petron we felt we could dump it into him and you saw how he got his teammates involved to win the game with the passes to Dondon (Hontiveros) and JV (Casio),†dagdag pa ni Trillo.
Nauna nang natalo ang Aces sa nagdedepensang San Mig Coffee Mixers, 68-75, na nagmantsa sa kanilang 5-0 record.
“He makes his game do the talking,†sabi ni Trillo.
