Bela walang paki sa Best Actress award

Hindi big deal for Bela Padilla ang manalo bilang Best Actress for her movie, Mañanita, which is an entry in third year’s Tokyo International Film Festival (TIFF).

Isang karangalan na para sa kanya, ang Mañanita ang tanging Filipino film na kasali sa competition.

Mañanita is directed by Paul Soriano, who is also producer of the movie, which his TEN17P co-produced with Viva Films.

A concept, too, ni direk Paul, internationally acclaimed director, producer at writer, Lav Diaz helped him daw, ani direk Paul, complete the story and script of the movie.

The 2019 TIFF is scheduled from October 28 to November 5.

Mañanita, one film na walang leading man si Bela, is scheduled na ipalabas dito sa Pilipinas sa Dec. 4.

Karla hinihintay kung magkakaroon ng pang-limang anak

Open na si Karla Estrada sa kanyang buhay pag-ibig. Bagama’t need pa niyang i-reveal ang name ng lalaki.

But obvious na approve sa lalaki, lalo na ang kanyang panganay na si Daniel Padilla.

So, ang tanong: Kailan ang kasal?

Karla, as far as we know, has never been married. Hindi niya isinisikreto na apat ang kanyang mga anak, dalawang lalaki at two girls, at magkakaiba ang ama ng mga ito. But all four fathers acknowledge her four children.

No wonder, maganda lagi ang buhay para kay Karla.

Epi napahanga kay KZ

Wow Salve A., to the max ang paghanga nina Epi Quizon at direk Jourdan Sebastian kay KZ Tandingan dahil sa professionalism at acting talent nito.

First time nila itong makatrabaho sa soon-to-be released film, The Art of Ligaw.

Ayon kay Epi na siya ring supervising producer ng pelikula, aminado siya na may doubt, when their producers Anna Maniego at Dan Ryan Catalan, owners ng Coreminds, mentioned for the first time sa kanya na si KZ nga ang makakapareha niya.

‘Di raw niya gaanong kilala si KZ, kahit as a singer lang. Kaya, napag-uusapan daw nila ni direk Jourdan to have KZ submit to a massive acting workshop, bago sila magsimula ng siyuting.

“And that was when I realized na stars somehow are really born,” ani Epi. “Ang galing ni KZ.

“Natural na natural siya sa kanyang role as a call center agent in Davao, na hipster, pero, naging mailap nang ligawan ko.

“Sa totoo lang, she reminds me when Nora Aunor (yes, the Superstar) was just starting in showbiz. Well, based sa mga nabasa ko tungkol kay Nora, noong baguhan pa lamang siya,” patuloy pa ni Epi.

As expected, may mga eksenang umaawit, of course, si KZ. She will also be singing the film’s theme song.

Of Epi, no need to tell you that he is of showbiz royalty born. His dad is the late Comedy King Dolphy. Si Eric Quizon, kilala natin bilang actor at direktor, ay nakatatanda niyang kapatid.

Pamangkin niya si Boy2 Quizon, na siyang director ng Pista Ng Pelikulang Pilipino (PPP) entry, I’m Ellenya L, starring Maris Racal at Iñigo Pascual.

As a performer, Epi dabbles both in comedy and kontrabida roles. He played dad to Edward Barber and Grae Fernandez in the horror-suspense series, Hiwaga Ng Kambat.

Sayang nga lang pala, Salve A., at di namin naitanong kay Epi, if tulad ni Eric, single pa rin siya.

Epi is 46 years old.

Sharon at Regine, apat na beses magpapalit ng wardrobe

Apat na beses magpapalit ng costume na kanilang isusuot sina Sharon Cuneta at Regine Velasquez, when they perform at their first concert together ever, Iconic, scheduled on October 18 and 19, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Ang respective wardrobe nila ay gawa ng magkakaibang designers. Ganun pa man, posibleng a few days before the concerts, they will have an idea tungkol sa respective na mga damit na kanilang isusuot.

They already know this early, however, how many songs each ang aawitin nila. And how many songs din they will sing together.

Sharon admits na magkaiba ang genre ng mga inaawit nila ni Regine. Magkaiba rin ang range ng kanilang boses. Alto ang kanya, si Regine naman sobrang mataas daw ang boses.

They both assure, however, na lahat ng mano­nood ay masisiyahan maging parte ng event na ito.

It may not happen again, after all. On the part of Sharon, lalo na, she is somehow certain that in two years, magre-retire na siya both as a singer and entertainer.

Iconic nga pala will have Rowell Santiago for director. Musical directors are Raul Mitra and Louie Ocampo.
