Sad Saturday for the local entertainment industry kahapon (October 5), since two beloved icons ang binawian ng buhay, sina Amalia Fuentes at Tony Mabesa.

Three Saturdays ago, the local entertainment press mourned for the death of one of their colleague, Isah Red.

Please let us all say a prayer for them.

Amalia’s demise reminds us of Rico J. Puno, na yumao na rin.

This was sometime last year, when we attended a presscon for his concert.

And obviously, those minutes na ‘di kaagad siya nailabas ng room may have counted so much.

Her late brother, Cheng (dad nina Aga at Arlene Muhlach), hired a private plane to have her rushed home.

Well, sa nabanggit na usapan, Rico J’s advice sa kanyang mga interview, not to lock tight the door of the cubicle na pinasukan mo like comfort room sa isang public place, o, mall kaya, para, in case, you need help, at wala kang kasama, puwede itong buksan ng next na gagamit after you.

Very proud advice nga naman.

Thank you, Rico J.

Regine ‘di patong-patong ang trabaho

Now to a pleasant news, isa sa pinaka-busy among her colleagues itong si Regine Velasquez.

Bukod sa big preparation na kailangan gawin niya, dahil nga na in two weeks, idaraos na ang concert nila ni Sharon Cuneta, Iconic (on October 18 and 19) sa Araneta Smart Coliseum, she has to also, kahit papaano ay tulungan si Sarah Geronimo sa pagpo-promote ng Unforgettable, kung saan may special role siya.

She is right now shooting for a movie, Yours Truly, Shirley, with her playing the title role para sa Cinema One Original Film Festival ngayong November.

Bukod dito ay meron pa siyang ASAP Natin ‘To where she is, of course, considered the real star of the show.

Nagkasama ang dalawa sa pelikulang 100 Tula Para Kay Stella at The Day After Valentine’s.

It was during the filming of said movie (100 Tula…) that JC revealed he had a crush on Bela.

Well.

Currently, what excites Bela is her newly completed movie, Mañanita, which is an entry in the 2019 Tokyo International Film Festival.

Written by Lav Diaz, it has direk Paul Soriano at the helm.

Direk Paul produced Mañanita for his own film firm, Ten17.

“It’s the most interesting and most challenging movie I’ve worked for,” pag-amin ni Bela.

“I hope, a miracle, kumbaga, happens sa 2019 Tokyo International Film Festival. Although, malaki ang pag-asang mapapansin ng mga hurado (composed of internationally proclaimed film makers, such ad Zhang Zi) ang pelikula.

“Bow ako as a direktor kay direk Paul,” susog pa ni Bela.

The Tokyo International Filmfest is scheduled on October 29.
