Cristine at Sam ‘di nakakibo kahit sapaw na sapaw ni Anne sa pelikula nila
Did Direk Chris Martinez purposely allowed Anne Curtis to outshine co-stars Cristine Reyes and Sam Milby in the movie, The Gifted, still showing in theaters nationwide?
After all, ‘di nga ba at isa sa mga hiniling niya sa Viva Films para kanyang i-direk ang movie, ay to have Anne as one of the lead stars?
Which didn’t prove a problem to Viva Films, as they are the one running Anne’s showbiz career.
But as one Viva Films insider said, if true ang bagay na ito, dapat nag-reklamo sina Cristine Reyes at Sam. But as it is, obvious na contented ang dalawa sa naging exposure nila sa movie. The two, like Anne, were given their respective moments, too.
Well, kung may naging edge man si Anne, lalo na kay Cristine, ito ay ang higit na magandang exposure ni Anne both sa print at TV media.
After all, unlike Cristine, ‘di nagdi-disappearing act si Anne. Tulad ni Cristine, tuwing matatapos ang presscon for The Gifted.
In the case of Sam, marami ang nakapansing nag-improve siya as an actor sa The Gifted. Lalo na sa kanyang pananagalog.
Well, keep up the good work, Sam.
Tinulungan ni direk Wenn, Dante Ponce nagbabalik-showbiz
Staging a comeback in showbiz is Dante Ponce, who is in the cast of Star Cinema’s upcoming horror-suspense flick, Maria Leonora Teresa.
Tall, slightly kayumanggi and handsome, Dante was, kumbaga, in his prime as an actor, when he left showbiz.
‘‘I tried my luck abroad,’’ aniya. ‘‘But now, my family and I are back in the country for good.
‘‘I’m glad that when Direk Wenn Deramas saw me, immediately sabi niya, tamang-tama, isasama kita sa gagawin kong movie for Star Cinema.”
Dante said he is glad that in his first comeback film, kasama niya sina Jodi Sta. Maria, Zanjoe Marudo, at Iza Calzado. This is the first time he is working with all three.
It will be recalled that many years back, pinauso niya ang tinawag na ‘‘pito-pito’’ films. Marami ang naniniwala sa mga taga-showbiz, na ang ‘‘pito-pito’’ films ang dahilan kung bakit nagkaroon ng indie films.
As Mother Lily said: ‘‘Who knows, baka ito ang maging saving factor ng ating local films country.
‘‘Pahirap nang pahirap ang gumawa ng movie ngayon, dahil sobrang expensive,’’ ani Mother Lily.
Mother Lily disclosed, though, that her current production, the three-episode Shake, Rattle, and Roll XV, is not a low-budget flick. A Metro Manila Filmfest (MMFF) entry for this year, Mother Lily said, she expects to at least, spend P20M, yes, P20 million if not more, to produce the movie.
At least, this early she predicts daw na kikita ang pelikula.
