MANILA, Philippines – Ang pagkakaroon ng bagong training center para sa mga national athletes ang nasa itaas ng Christmas wish ng mga top sports officials.
“If we want to be a nation that can compete in the whole world, kailangan natin ng training center,” wika ni Philippine Olympic Committee president Jose ‘Peping’ Cojuangco, Jr.
Ito rin ang kahilingan ni Philippine Sports Commission chairman Richie Garcia para sa susunod na taon.
“We are training our athletes in conditions that differ from our rivals. We don’t have a training center. It’s unfortunate because our country boasts of a lot of talented athletes but we can’t make the most out of it,” sabi ni Garcia.
Matagal nang itinutulak nina Cojuangco at Garcia ang pagkakaroon ng centralized hub para tuluyan nang iwanan ang nabubulok nang Rizal Memorial Sports Complex sa Vito Cruz, Manila at ang luma nang Philsports Complex sa Pasig City.
Ngunit wala pa ring nangyayari.
