Ordinaryong laban lang kay Mayweather ang May 2 fight

MANILA, Philippines – Para kay Floyd Mayweather Jr., isang ordinaryong laban lamang ang kanilang megabuck showdown ni Manny Pacquiao at walang magiging epekto ito sa kanyang legacy.

“Well I, don’t feel that one fight defines my le-gacy. To me, it’s just ano-ther day. It’s just another fight,” sabi ng undefeated American boxer kay Ben Thompson ng fighthype.com, isang araw matapos kumpirmahin na tuloy na ang kanilang laban ni Pacquiao.

Walang talo si Mayweather sa kanyang 47 na laban at naniniwala siyang si Pacquiao ang kanyang magiging pang-48 na biktima.

Binanggit niya ang ilan sa kanyang mga bentahe laban sa Filipino icon.

“I mean, when you just look at the tale of the tape, I have a longer reach, I’m taller, I’m stronger, and I’m more accurate,” aniya.

Nanalo na ng limang titulo si Mayweather, ang kasalukuyang  WBC welterweight champion, habang walong titulo sa iba’t ibang weight classes ang napanalunan ni Pacquiao.

Sa kanilang May 2 na laban sa MGM Grand sa Las Vegas, si Mayweather ay may five-inch reach advantage laban kay Pacquiao (72 inches- 67 inches).

Mas matangkad din si Mayweather na 5-foot-8 ang taas kumpara kay Pacquiao na 5-foot-6 ½ lamang.

Bukod sa physical advantages ng Las Vegas-based fighter, nasa kanyang panig din ang dating strength and conditioning coach ni Pacquiao na si Alex Ariza.

“I think I seen a major change in Pacquiao when Alex Ariza left his training camp. Which is a great thing Alex is working with me now. He’s a strength and conditioning coach and he’s a great guy,” sabi ni Mayweather ukol kay Ariza. (DM)
