MANILA, Philippines — Winalis ng Barangay Ginebra ang Meralco sa kanilang best-of-five quarterfinal series upang masungkit ang unang tiket sa semifinals series ng PBA Season 49 Governors’ Cup.
Hindi inaasahan ni Gin Kings head coach Tim Cone na magiging madali ang daang tatahakin ng kanilang tropa lalo pa’t maraming bangas ang kanilang lineup.
Wala sina big man Isaac Go, Jamie Malonzo at Jeremiah Gray.
“First of all, I’m totally shocked we were able to beat them (Meralco) three straight games. Each game came as you know it could be a play here or play there that would have changed the complexion of the game, and it’s just that the ball came to our favor,” ani Cone.
Binanderahan ni three-time PBA Best Import Allen Durham ang Bolts.
Naalala pa ni Cone ang pagkatalo ng kanilang tropa sa Bolts sa semis ng Philippine Cup.
“They beat us in the last series, and in that Game 7, they tore us apart,” ani Cone.
