Si Sen. Grace na ang nagsabi Susan sarado na ang puso

Guess, Salve A, kung sino ang ‘‘agaw-eksena’’ kay Susan Roces sa sobrang intimate party given to her by friends? Yes, at the residence of daughter Sen. Grace Po-Llamanzares sa Corinthian Gardens, Quezon City, when her mom turned a year older July 29.

Well, child star Ryzza Mae Dizon, na ang tawag kay Susan ay tumataginting na ‘‘Kumare.’’

Susan, if you recall, was the first guest ng bata sa kanyang programang The Ryzza Mae Show aired before Eat Bulaga.

Ryzza Mae didn’t stay long though. As Malou Choa-Fagar, executive ng APT Productions which produces Eat Bulaga, explained: Bawal sa ‘‘bagets’’ ang magpuyat.

The following day nga naman, may school siya at trabaho.

Naiwanan sina Malou at Tony Tuviera, may-ari ng APT, sa birthday party.

Among those who made ‘‘bati’’ to Susan, were Mother Lily Monteverde; Sen. Chiz Escudero, who came with girlfriend Heart Evangelista; fellow talent managers ng kanyang manager na si Dolor Guevarra, who had with her daughters JP and Aness and sister Emma; banker and art collector Danny Dolor; June Rufino; Shirley Kuan; and GR (Girlie Rodis); sisters Ichu Vera-Perez-Maceda and Lilibeth Perez-Nakpil; Ricky Lo, Philippine Star Entertainment editor; colleagues Ronald Constantino and Ethel Ramos; and TV Patrol entertainment head, Mario Dumaual.

Medyo late dumating ang mag-asawang Bibeth Orteza and movie and TV director (pero ngayon ay film instructor na sa isang university in Singapore) si Carlos Siguion-Reyna.

Missed was Tita Mids (Armida Siguion-Reyna to you and me) na dati-rati’y permanent fixture sa mga gathering tulad nitong in honor of Susan.

On hand to help Susan entertained her small gather of friends were Sen. Grace and her husband, Neil Llamanzares, who works as executive of a multi-national company based in the country.

Sen. Grace’s son, Bryan, had to leave though dahil dadalo pa raw siya sa party din ng isang kaibigan.

In any case, may nakatutuwang incident when Susan finally blew the candles in her birthday cake, courtesy of June Rufino, who has a sister Elise, who owns a bakery shop.

‘‘Make a wish, make a wish, before you blow the candles,’’ sabi ng mga bisitang nakapalibot kay Susan.

She merely smiled.

Kaya kami ang nag-suggest: ‘‘Why not, na muling mabuksan ang iyong puso?’’

Muling Buksan… happens to be the title of the current series ni Susan on ABS-CBN co-starring her with fellow old-timer Dante Rivero, plus, Pilar Pilapil, Cherie Gil, at Agot Isidro.

Also starring are younger talents Julia Montes, Enrique Gil, at Enchong Dee. Featured are Daniel Fernando, currently the vice governor ng Bulacan at Jestoni Alarcon.

Well, ang naging reaction ni Sen. Grace sa aming suggestion: ‘‘Wala nang bubuksang puso si mama. Puno na ang kanyang puso ng aming pamilya.’’
