Kai Sotto lalaro sa Chiba team sa B.League
MANILA, Philippines — Pumirma si Kai Sotto ng kontrata para maglaro sa Altiri Chiba team at manatili sa Japan B.League.
“I’m looking forward to joining the club Altiri Chiba. I’m very excited to meet the team, Coach Andrej (Lemanis), the staff, my teammates, and the fans!” sabi ng 7-foot-3 na si Sotto sa Chiba website.
“I’ll do everything I can to help this team win and achieve great things this season,” dagdag ng Gilas Pilipinas center.
Unang naglaro si Sotto para sa Hiroshima Dragonflies sumunod sa Yokohama B-Corsairs at sa Koshigaya Alphas. Hindi naman ito lumagda ng kontrata sa Koshigaya noong Mayo dahil sa pagtatangka niyang makapaglaro sa US NCAA.
Gagawin ng 24-anyos na si Sotto ang kanyang debut para sa Altiri, 19 lamang ang naipanalo sa nakaraang B.League season, sa pagsagupa sa Kawasaki Brave Thunders sa Oktubre 3.
“He is a big man who combines imposing 220cm stature with a soft touch around the rim and the passing vision to bring his teammates into the game,” wika ni Altiri CEO at representative Yoshihide Arai sa Pinoy giant.
“His physical gifts and the experience he has gained competing in the B1 League will undoubtedly be vital assets as the team prepares to compete in the B.PREMIER,” dagdag nito.
