MANILA, Philippines — No bus driver tested positive for use of illegal drugs during a recent inspection at bus terminals in Quezon City, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority reported.

MMDA Chairman Romando Artes said 30 bus drivers and dispatchers at the Five Star and Baliwag bus terminals in Cubao district were cleared after undergoing random drug test inspection by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) on Friday.

Artes said bus companies could use EDSA without restrictions from April 16 to 20, although buses will only be allowed to stop at terminals in Cubao, Quezon City and in Pasay City.

He assured that the MMDA, PDEA and Philippine National Police would sustain coordinated efforts to ensure safety of commuters and motorists during the Holy Week.
