MANILA, Philippines — Kumpiyansa si 2019 Southeast Asian Games gold medalists Junna Tsukii sa magiging performance ng Philippine national karate team sa susunod na taon.

Matapos angkinin ang gold medal sa Karate Premier League sa Lisbon, Portugal at sa Cairo, Egypt ay minalas si Tsukii sa nakaraang 2021 AKF Asian Karate Championships sa Almaty, Kazakhstan.

Nakuntento ang Fil-Japanese sa silver medal matapos matalo kay hometown bet Moldir Zhangbyrbay, 5-9, sa finals ng women’s kumite -51 kilogram class.

Si Tsukii ang kasalukuyang World No. 4 at Asian No. 2 karateka.

Tumapos ang national karate team na may da­lawang silver at apat na bronze medals sa nasabing Asian championships. Ang ikalawang silver ay galing kay 2019 SEA Games gold medalist Jamie Lim na natalo kay Sarah Alameri, 1-2, ng United Arab Emirates sa finals ng women’s -61kg category.

Ang apat na bronze ay mula kina Sakura Alforte (women’s Under-21 at senior individual kata), John Enrico Vasquez (men’s U21 individual kata) at Remon Misu (women’s U21 -61kg kumite).
