Soguilon, Zamora babandera sa Pinas sa Japan meet

MANILA, Philippines - Magpapadala ang Phi­lippine Swimming League (PSL) ng 16 manlala­ngoy para sa 2015 Japan Swimming Championship na magsisimula sa Nobyembre 14 sa Tokyo.

Mangunguna sa delegasyon ang mga itinalaga na Swimmers of the Year na sina Sean Terence Zamora ng UST at Kyla Soguilon ng Kalibo Sun Yat Sen School.

Makakasama rin si Micaela Jasmine Mojdeh ng Immaculate Heart of Mary College-Parañaque bukod pa kina Season 78 UAAP gold medalists Drew Magbag, Lans Rawlin Donato at Charize Esmero.

Sina Paul Christian King, Paula Carmela Cu­sing, Rio Lorenzo Malapitan, Heather White, Ruben White, Kobe Soguilon, Edmundo Jose Tolentino, Juana Amor Cervas, Lucio Cuyong II at Angela Claire Torrico ang kukumpleto sa delegasyon.

“These are the swimmers who competed in the PSL National Series and have proven themselves in local meets. We are now sending them in international competitions to further hone their skills and they will be pitted against the best swimmers from host Japan and China,” wika ni PSL president Susan Papa.

Ito ang unang pagkakataon na sasali ang PSL sa torneong ito at naniniwala si Papa na malaki ang maitutulong ng exposure para lalo pang gumaling ang mga manla­langoy na nabanggit.

Makakasama ni Papa sa delegasyon bilang mga opisyales sina PSL secretary general Maria Susan Benasa, NCR regional director Joan Mojdeh at coach Joey Andaya.

Bago ito ay nagpadala na ng lahok ang PSL sa mga torneo tulad ng Indian Ocean All-Star Challenge sa Australia, Phuket Invitational Swimming Cham­pionship sa Thailand, Hong Kong Stingrays Invitational Swimming Championship, Singapore Invitational Swimming Championship at Midget Meet.
