Go tiwala sa performance ng YOG athletes

MANILA, Philippines - Umaasa ang chef-de-mission ng Philippine delegation sa 2nd Youth Olympic Games sa pitong atleta para sa ka­una-unahang medalya.

“Any one among our seven athletes can win a medal,” wika kahapon ni chef-de-mission Jonne Go mula sa Nanjing, China na pagdarausan ng 2nd YOG.

Kakampanya para sa bansa sina shooter Celdon Jude  Arellano, swimmer Roxanne Yu, gymnast Ava Lorein Verdeflor, trackster Zion Rose Nelson, triathlete Victoria Evania Deldio at archers Bianca Roxas-Chua Gotuaco at Luis Gabriel Moreno.

Bumiyahe ang pitong atleta kasama ang kanilang mga coaches patungong Nanjing via Hong Kong.

Kabuuang 205 bansa ang kalahok ngayong taon.

Ang 1st YOG ay idinaos sa Singapore noong 2010 kung saan siyam na atleta ang sumabak sa 3-on-3 bas­ketball, taekwondo, tennis, swimming at weightlifting.

Walang nakuhang medalya ang bansa sa Singapore makaraang magtapos sina taekwondo jin Kirk Barbosa at weightlifter Patricial Llena na pang-lima sa kani-kanilang events.
