Pinay booters pasok sa semis ng AFC U14

MANILA, Philippines - Blinangko ng Philippine team ang Cambodia, 5-0, para walisin ang Group A at angkinin ang top spot patungo sa semifinals ng AFC Under-14 Girls Regional Championship para sa Asean region sa Ho Chi Minh City.

Kinumpleto ng Phl girls, sinimulan ang torneo mula sa 6-0 paglampaso sa Singapore kasunod ang 1-0 upset kontra sa Vietnam, ang kanilang dominasyon sa Group A sa pamamagitan ng isa na namang shut-out win.

Nakakuha ang koponan ng mga goals kina skipper Joyce Omboy Semaco (26’), Itsuko Maree Bacatan (44’), Lindsay Whaley (56’) at substitute Chloe Hails (67’).

Nagtapos na ikaapat noong nakaraang taon, target ng Pinay booters ang finals berth sa pagharap sa Myanmar, ang No. 2 team sa Group B.

Lalabanan naman ng Thailand, ang top team sa Group B, ang Group A runner-up at host Vietnam sa isa pang semis pairing.

“The challenge and motivation of being the only team to beat Vietnam in the history of Philippine women’s football helped push the girls to not to stop, until they reach the finals. Although our girls are not tactically experienced, they perform very well when given their tasks,” sabi ni Phl coach Let Dimzon.
