Mas maaksyong paluan sa PBaRS NCR leg asahan na

MANILA, Philippines - Dahil sa mga bigating kalahok, inaasahang magi­ging maaksyon ang MVP Sports Foundation-Philippine Badminton Ranking System (PBaRS) Manila leg na hahataw sa Oktubre 27 sa Powersmash.

Humakot ng 128 players ang Open men’s singles, Under-19 at U-15 boys’ singles, habang ang labanan sa 15-division event ay maaaring magkaroon ng 32-player o 64-player cast sa torneong suportado ng MVP Sports Foundation.

Sinabi ni tournament director Nelson Asuncion na nagdagdag sila ng extra courts para mapagbigyan ang maraming bilang ng mga kalahok na naghahangad ng rekognisyon at ranking points para sa puwesto sa national pool.

Ang eliminations ay lalaruin sa Powersmash sa Oktubre 27-28 at ang quarters, semifinals at finals ay idaraos sa Makati Coliseum sa Oktubre 29-31.

Makakatapat ni Toby Gadi, winalis ang unang limang Open’s men’s singles titles, kasama ang PBaRS Cebu leg noong Mayo, sina No.  2 Paul Vivas, third seed Patrick Natividad, fourth ranked Kevin Dalisay, No. 5 Charlo Tengco at No. 6 Jason Oba-ob.

Hangad rin ni top seed Gelita Castilo ang kanyang korona sa women’s Open singles kalaban sina Cebu leg winner Bianca Carlos, Bianca Legaspi, Danica Bolos, Jennifer Cayetano, Cassandra Lim, Elaine Malelang at Kristina Tan.

Ang naturang five-day event ay inorganisa nina Philippine Badminton Association chief at Vice President Jejomar Binay, chairman Manny V. Pangilinan at sec-gen Rep. Albee Benitez.

Ang naturang even, sanctioned din ng Philippine Olympic Committee at Philippine Sports Commission, ay suportado rin ng PBA Partylist (Pwersa ng Baya­ning Atleta), Gatorade, Badminton Extreme Philippines Magazine, Victor PCome Industrial Sales Inc., Vineza Industrial Sales, Sincere, Krav Maga Philippines at TV5, ang  Enervon ang minor sponsor.
