MANILA, Philippines - Humigit-kumulang sa 1,500 atleta mula sa 500 institutions ang maglalaban-laban sa Setyembre 24-25 para sa 2011 SMART National Inter-School (kyorugi and poomsae) taekwondo championships sa Ninoy Aquino Stadium.
Ayon kay Organizing Committee chairman Sung Chon Hong, idaraos ng magkahiwalay ang individual competition ng novice at advance players sa seniors, juniors at grade school.
“This event gives upcoming and veteran jins the chance to test their skills and confidence,” wika ni Hong.
Tanging mga blackbelt students lamang ang papayagang lumahok sa individual, mixed pair at team events sa poomsae.
Ang mga paaralan at unibersidad na kasapi sa Philippine Taekwondo Association na nagkumpirma ng kanilang paglahok ay ang De La Salle University (Taft, Zobel, Lipa and Dasmarinas), College of Saint Benilde, UST, UP, Ateneo de Manila, FEU, UE, San Beda College (Alabang, Mendiola and Taytay), Letran, Don Bosco (Makati and Mandaluyong), St. Theresa’s College, Lourdes School of Mandaluyong and QC, OBMC, University of Batangas, Diliman Preparatory School, School of St. Anthony, St. Vincent School, UPIS at Rizal High.
Ang dalawang araw na meet ay hatid ng Philippine Sports Commission, Smart Communications, PLDT at Milo.
