Pacquiao inalok ng $65M para labanan si Alvarez

MANILA, Philippines - Kung si Bob Arum ng Top Rank Promotions ang tatanungin, sapat na kay Manny Pacquiao ang alok na guaranteed purse na $65 milyon ng isang pinakamayamang tao sa buong mundo para labanan si Mexican Saul Alvarez.

Ang naturang prize purse ay inialok ni Mexican billionaire Carlos Slim sa Filipino world eight-division champion na si Pacquiao upang sagupain ang world light middleweight king na si Alvarez sa 2012.

Si Slim, isang international telecommunications mogul na may net worth na $59 hanggang $ 67.8 bilyon, ay nakikipag-usap umano sa Team Pacquiao at kay Ilocos Sur Governor Luis “Chavit” Singson.

“I saw the story and I don’t take it as gospel,” sabi ni Arum. “But Slim is one of the richest people in the world and Chavit, who I know so well, is a very serious guy.”

Nauna nang inialok ng isang grupo ng Singaporean businessmen ang guaranteed purse na $65 milyon sa 34-anyos na si Mayweather para sagupain ang 32-anyos na si Pacquiao. Subalit hindi ito kinagat ng American boxer.

Sa napagkasunduan namang catchweight fight sa 144-pounds, idedepensa ng Sarangani Congressman ang kanyang bitbit na World Boxing Organization (WBO) welterweight belt laban kay Mexican Juan Manuel Marquez sa Nobyembre 12 sa MGM Grand sa Las Vegas, Nevada.

Itinatakda ni Slim ang laban ni Pacquiao sa 20-anyos na si Alvarez sa susunod na taon.

“Well, they are talking about next year. Manny has the key third fight against Juan Manuel Marquez coming up on Nov. 12 and then we can discuss 2012,” ani Arum.

Dala ni Pacquiao ang kanyang 53-3-2 win-loss-draw ring record kasama ang 38 KOs kumpara sa 52-5-1 (38 KOs) slate ni Marquez, habang bitbit ni Alvarez ang 36-0-1 (26 KOs).
