Pagsasanay ng karatekas apektado sa gulo sa PKF

MANILA, Philippines -  Sa Hunyo pa sisimulan ng mga Filipino karatekas ang kanilang paghahanda para sa 26th Southeast Asian Games sa Indonesia na nakatakda sa Nobyembre 11.

Ito ay dahilan sa gusot ng Philippine Karatedo Federation (PKF) interim president Joey Romasanta na magsagawa ng tryouts para sa mga miyembro ng national pool.

Si Romasanta ang idineklarang PKF interim president ng Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) bago ang eleksyon ng grupo sa Mayo.

Idaraos ng PKF ang tryouts kasabay ng P-Noy National Games sa Mayo.

“Our current national pool is still the one formed for the (2010) Asian Games. We have to create another pool for the SEA Games,” wika ni Romasanta.

Inutusan na ni Romasanta ang kanyang technical officials na gumawa ng kriterya para sa selection process na mangyayari sa Mayo 23-29 PNG sa Negros Occidental.

“Our tryouts will be open to all clubs and karate enthusiasts. This is in keeping with the thrust of the PSC (Philippine Sports Commission) on non-seeding and earnest selection of fresh talents,” ani Romasanta.

Hangad ng Phl karatekas na lampasan ang kanilang one-gold, two-silver, three-bronze performance sa 2009 SEA Games sa Laos.

Ang PKF ay isa sa ilang National Sports Associations (NSAs) na may lea­dership dispute.
