Air21 ipaparada sina top three picks Baclao, Al-Hussaini at Guevarra kontra San Miguel

MANILA, Philippines - Matapos gumawa ng kasaysayan sa pag-angkin sa No.1, 2 at 3 overall picks sa nakaraang 2010 PBA Rookie Draft, itatampok naman ng Air21 sina Nonoy Baclao, Rabeh Al-Hussaini at Rey Guevarra.

Makakabangga ng Express ang San Miguel Beermen ngayong alas-7:30 ng gabi matapos ang salpukan ng Alaska Aces at Barako Bull Ener­gy Boosters sa alas-5 ng hapon sa 2010-2011 PBA Philippine Cup sa Araneta Coliseum today.

“Nonoy is the epitome of a role player. Not high profile but he would do the dirty work. He’s not a big time scorer but will score when needed. He’s on the ball every time,” sabi ni coach Yeng Guiao sa 6-foot-5 na si Baclao, nakatuwang ng 6’7 na si Al-Hussaini sa paggiya sa Ateneo De Manila University sa paghahari sa 2008 at 2009 UAAP season.

Matatandaan ring nadismaya si Al-Hussaini nang itanghal ng Air21, nagtapos bilang fifth-placer sa nakaraang Philippine Cup na pinamahalaan ng Derby Ace, si Baclao bilang top overall pick sa halip na siya.

Ngunit si Al-Hussaini, half-brother ni Air21 center Carlo Sharma, ay madali ring napaliwanagan nina Guiao at team manager Allan Gregorio.

Muli namang aasahan ng Beermen, pansamantalang gigiyahan ni assistant coach Gee Abanilla habang hindi pa natatapos ang kampanya ni head coach Ato Agustin sa NCAA para sa San Sebastian Stags, sina Danny Ildefonso, Jay Washington, Arwind Santos, Danny Seigle at Joseph Yeo.

Sa unang laro, hangad ng Aces ni Tim Cone na maipagpatuloy ang kani­lang ratsada matapos angkinin ang nakaraang PBA Fiesta Conference.

Hinugot ng Alaska sina Bonbon Custodio at rookie forward Elmer Espiritu, habang kinuha naman ng Energy Boosters ni Junel Baculi sina Sunday Salvacion, Richard Yee at Marvin Cruz at rookie Hans Paul Thiele.
