RP 5 vs Taiwan sa Jones Cup ngayon
TAIPEI - Nakatakdang sagupain ng Smart Gilas Team Pilipinas ang Taiwan University All Stars sa pagsisimula ng 2010 William Jones Cup.
Magtatagpo ang Smart Gilas at ang nasabing local team ngayong alas-3 ng hapon kung saan sasabak rin sa torneo ang mga Asian Games-bound teams ng Iran, Lebanon, Chinese Taipei at Japan.
Tiniyak ni Serbian caoch Rajko Toroman na hindi babalewalain ng kanyang Nationals ang TU All Stars.
“It’s a game we have to win to prepare us for the tougher games,” wika ni Toroman, naging observer sa Yeng Guiao-mentored Powerade RP Team na tumapos bilang sixth-placer sa naturang invitational tourney noong 2009.
“It’s difficult to talk if you don’t know the opponent. Probably it’s a big team. But we really don’t know the level of game of this local team,” dagdag pa ni Toromon.
“The Lebanon team is going to be a strong competition. They’re here without Fadi El-Khatib but they have two NBA players and all the best Lebanese players. They also have players from the NCAA that I don’t know,” ani Toroman sa Lebanon team na babanderahan nina NBA veterans Jackson Vroman at Matt Freije.
